Expectation versus Reality. Teaching is not the most ideal profession one can ever had. That “Walang nayamang teacher” mentality will make you think twice, thrice, or even

million times, why you had chosen to be a teacher. Then, you’ll try to convince yourself, huh! It’s noble, anyway. You’ll get disappointed for numerous times, to the point that you can’t even remember how many times you had told yourself “enough”. But you’re still there, fighting the never won battle of daily struggles of being a teacher. You’re still there, clinging on to the idea, that one day, everything will change. You’re still there, holding on for your students. Though, most of the times, your students are the causes of your pain and distress, admit it or not, they are also your motivation to continue. The smiles on their faces whenever they do the tasks. The spark on their eyes each time the lessons ring a bell. The proud moments every time they pass the tests. Those simple acts of appreciation, give you sense of fulfillment, and your existence a purpose. My fellow Marian educators, aspiring Marian teachers, every day is a bumpy ride. At some point, you want to quit, and choose the easy way out. But, whenever you cry in silence because of this cruel world that belittles you, remember that we are not just teachers, we are MARIAN TEACHERS. A Marian seed was implanted in our hearts. A seed that nourishes compassion, perseverance, and love. A seed that promises to make a difference.
